Luxembourg +4 -116 over Russia
Lux has not scored this calendar year, so why am I taking them against powerhouse Russia? Russia has scored only 9 goals in 5 home matches in WCQ. They have not scored more than 2 goals either at home or on the road this calendar year.

San Marino +3.5 and +4 -131 over Bosnia-Herzegovina
Same situation here. San Marino is one of the worst teams in Europe in WCQ. However, Bosnia is another low-scoring team. They have only scored more than 1 goal in 1 of their 8 World Cup matches.

Portugal -3.5 +118 over Liechtenstein
We're getting "+" money for this one. Portugal has been a powerhouse, winning games with scores like 7:1, 5:0 and 6:0. The motivation for this matchup is two-fold:
Portugal can clinch the Group 3 title by winning at home against Liecht. Also, the last meeting between these 2 squads ended in a 2:2 draw when Portugal got up early and cruised only to let Liecht get back in the match.

Here is a quote from Jorge Andrade on the FIFA web site. He is one of the Portugal defensemen:

"The first match against Liechtenstein was a bit strange. We were 2-0 up and then we eased off, lost concentration and they came back to earn a draw. But that's football I suppose. Anything can happen. We're playing them at home now and we have to make a strong start and close the game out early on. We can't afford to relax, though, because they might make us pay for it. We're so close to qualifying for Germany, and it's worth just pushing that bit harder to get the reward we deserve for all our hard work. The last thing we want is to face Latvia needing to get something out of the game."

Switzerland +0.5 -113 over France
I wonder if the Swiss are the European version of the Cheeseheads. They are tied for first in the Group 4 standings with the French but lead Israel by one point. Their defense is good at home which should be enough to at least get them a tie with the low-scoring French. France will be without striker Thierry Henry, who is nursing a groin injury, and fellow forward David Trezeguet who has a thigh strain so I see very little hope of France winning by one here.

Northern Ireland pk 115 over Wales (Pointbet)
Sorry, but I have to throw in another favorite here despite the thread title. Northern Ireland just defeated mighty England in Belfast in their most recent match. I'm thinking they will be coming off that match with a lot of confidence in hand.

Even though this match means nothing in terms of qualifying, I believe NI can win over Wales who have not scored a goal this calendar year. This match will be played in Belfast giving NI a decided advantage.

France/Switzerland UNDER 2.5 -143 (several books)
As mentioned before, France is without two of their top scorers. But here's another fact, France has only given up 1 goal in 8 WCQ matches while Switzerland has only given up 6 goals in 8 matches. The French league is typically a lower-scoring league and these players are used to the low-scoring matches.

Yes. The Russians have only had 1 match go over 4.5 and that was against Portugal where Portugal won 7-1 in Lisbon in a match where Russia was in the midst of turmoil.
